The management at Devlin’s is really excited about this new music night, as are we! Many open micr’s that frequent our other two nights come from Brighton. This will be run in the same format (pretty much). Hope to see you all out in the start-up weeks to get the ball rolling.

NEWS

***Tyler Morris featured in February’s issue of Guitar Player Magazine

Many have seen young Tyler shredding his axe at our open mics. He’s a humble dude with amazing skills. Congratulations Tyler!

***Congratulations (again) to Jennifer Tefft!

She recently sang the National Anthem to start the Bruins game on Feb. 7th. You may recall her doing the same for the Patriot’s last fall. I wonder if this means the Bruins will win the Stanley Cup this year, since the Pat’s won the Super Bowl?!

***Fat Tuesday Open Mic

One of my favorite Tuesdays of the year! Bring your cajun/blues/country tunes & celebrate like we’re in New Orleans!!! Next Tues. Feb 17th at Tommy Doyle's Open Mic

ACOUSTIC SHOWCASES

Come hang out to hear some great live music by our fellow musicians!!!

***Thursday, Feb. 19th at Mick Morgan’s in Newton, MA., 118 Needham St. www.MickMorgans.com

8:30pm - Zack Bolles & Friends

This local musician pens great songs that hit home in an American working class way, reminiscent of Bruce Springsteen, John Mellencamp and Jerry Jeff Walker.

9:30pm - Ed Long

Ed loves playing songs that make the hair on the back of his neck stand up. Merle Haggard, Tim Hardin, John Sebastian, Eric Burden, John Fogerty, Johnny Cash and some guy related to Warren Buffet all do the trick.

Come to the showcase and hear his latest finds from the American folk, folk-rock and rock songbooks. He is also one of the few guitar players to make an album and then never hear it. Why is a great story.

***Friday, Feb. 20th at Tommy Doyle’s in Newton, MA, 349 Watertown St. www.TommyDoylesNewton.com

9:30pm - Aron Miller

Aron is a Boston based singer songwriter with a soulful, fun, quirky, alternative folky style, sounding somewhere in between Gordon Gano of the Violent Femmes and Jason Mraz. He just released a full length album called "Deflate This" available on iTunes Feb. 17. The title track is a Deflate-gate parody. Listen to 2 clips at https://soundcloud.com/aronmillermusic/deflate-this-deflate-that  and visit him at www.facebook.com/aronmillermusic.

10:30pm - Pat & Kerri

Pat and Kerri met at a local open mic and have been performing together as an acoustic duo ever since.  With their strong vocals, beautiful harmonies and Pat’s solid guitar playing, they perform the music that audiences know and love with a few unique covers thrown in.  Performing a variety of acoustic songs in Country, Pop and Rock, covering classics from then to now from artists such as The Beatles, The Supremes and Stevie Nicks to Rihanna, Kenney Chesney, Johnny Legend, their favorite Lady Antebellum and many more. They’ll be sure to make you smile, tap your feet and sing along.
