December 2020

Greetings All,

***  Covid Year

I truly hope everyone is doing as best as possible during such a crazy year. Grunt. We hope everyone in our community remains safe and happy.

Be well.

EVENTS

***  SHARE US YOUR MUSIC!!!! "Whatchya been doin?" sign up list.

go here... https://bostonlovesmusic.com/home

Please fill out the form by Dec. 30th

While so much Covid isolation has kept live music behind the curtain, many of us have found time to work on other musical projects such as studio albums, YouTube channels, new songwriting, dusting off old material, etc. etc. However, not all of us are connected to each other via social media, sooooo here's a chance for all of us to share what we've been up to! Please fill out the form by Dec. 30th and we'll post the big list in an "end of year" email blast for all to see. I'm personally looking forward to having a place where I can go to see what everyone has been up to, as opposed to coming across it in a random swipe, on FB, Insta, or such.

*** A special thank you to those who have grabbed the torch and are keeping our Open Mic spirit alive throughout this crazy year, specifically, the Tuesday Tommy Doyle's Open Mic posters, Tony Grassi & Kylie Klinger, Bob Greenman, Alex Kane, and more, plus Chris Steele and his Facebook group, Virtual Necessity Open Mic page.

NEWS

*** Brian Reilly

Some very sad news to share with you... our good friend, Brian Reilly, has passed away after a strong fight against cancer. Brian was a friendly, welcoming guy whom I first met at the old Mick Morgan's open mic in Newton, MA. He had recently moved from Hawaii, back home to the Boston area. In life, he was a graphic designer and artist, who had many amazing adventures. In music, he was a great guitar player with several sweet axes and pedals, and also played bass in many instances, notably for ALL of our annual Fat Tuesday Tommy Doyle's celebrations, with the Mojo Jubilee Swamp Band. He regularly played with his good friend, Patrick Fitzgerald, at Tommy Doyle's Open Mic in both the "Dreamtime Travelers" and the "Ben G. and the Bureau Cats" band. I'll always remember Brian's kindness thinking of when he took me to see Dave Mason (Feelin' Alright) with his son and sister and friends at the Cabot Theatre in Beverly, MA. Rest in music Brian Reilly, we'll miss you, but keep you in our hearts.
