NEWS

***Congrats to Caty, our Tuesday Tommy Doyle's bartender who just had her baby! We wish her and her family all the best. We'll miss Caty during her leave, but filling in for her is one of our fellow open micr’s for over three years, also a supreme cocktail maker at Mick Morgan's and Tommy Doyle's, the long-bearded John O'Brien!

***The Newton Music Fest just past and featured many musicians including our friends Waiting For Neil, Crowes Pasture, and the Newton Family Singers performing Beatles tunes with Chip Highfield on guitar!

***With great weather finally here, be sure to check out our Monday night Open Mic at Devlin’s in Brighton. Their outdoor patio is immense and infamous, just like their food!!!

Eddie Driscoll has it down... that old school, Guthrie-folk, train-hopping, T-model singing, harp squealin', guit strummin', hootin' n hollarin' kinda music. Prick yer ears up and stomp yer boots down!

Marilyn plays a beat up old Telecaster that has "that sound" ala Keith Richards (check out the Raindogs album by Tom Waits.) Her songwriting is honest and deep. She tells a story and rocks it out with a beautiful voice and purposeful musicianship.

OTHER HAPPENINGS

*** This Thursday, May 14th my band The Almighty Buck will be performing 5-8pm downtown Boston, outdoors in front of South Station for the Boston Calling Block Party! It's a free event that sells beer and wine. Stop down, chill out, enjoy the weather, even bring the kids to play on the grass.

***afterwards we'll be hanging at the Lizard Lounge. This is a highly recommended show featuring my very good, longtime friends playing some nasty blues/roots rock "Daemon Chili". -- the icing in the cake is that the opening band is, Erin Harpe and the Delta Swingers, and features our friend from the Devlin's Monday night open mic, Mr. Sonny Jim Clifford!!!  9pm start.
